We are a group of experienced insurance professionals that know the intricacies of the commercial property casualty industry.

Our goal is to make the insurance purchasing process easier, cheaper, more efficient and accurate for the client, agent, and insurance carrier. Our clients engage our platforms for a more technically advanced and cost efficient customer experience while decreasing time to quote, and increasing account retention, underwriting profits, and analytic possibilities.

Tom Young

Founder

Tom is the founder of DataCrest and a +20 year commercial insurance industry veteran.


Tom is a multi-business entrepreneur and worked at two MGAs before starting and selling his own agency. Prior to launching DataCrest, he was a producer/partner at Lockton. Before Lockton, he built a multi-location agency from the ground up by demonstrating value through innovative services rather than pricing. His positive “there is always a way” attitude fuels his relentless client advocate efforts and the growth of DataCrest. Tom envisioned a better way than the antiquated industry "deal flow" and experience that continually frustrated all involved. He identified that today's tech-savvy insurance professionals and insureds are ready for innovation. Tom created DataCrest with a combination of industry knowledge and tech thought-leaders to improve the insurance buying and selling experience for all stakeholders.

Dusty Swartz

Chief Product Officer

Dusty is the Chief Product Officer and provides strategic vision for DataCrest's products.


Before joining DataCrest, Dusty spent the prior ten years both helping lead an early stage insurtech through its growth stage and working for an international carrier designing, building, and evangelizing for digital technologies. He is a product and digital enablement leader with years of experience synthesizing and delivering disruptive solutions using cutting edge digital technology and UX techniques via data backed discovery. Dusty is committed to research backed decision making. He is obsessed with understanding problems and using that understanding to provide insightful product ideas to test and implement. Dusty is passionate about fostering creative, diverse, and inclusive environments. He believes to create the best solutions all voices need to be heard. Dusty graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Marketing. He currently resides in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia and can be found spending time with his wife and two daughters.
